Fort Simpson, Northwest Territories – On Tuesday, December 8, at approximately 2:30 PM, Fort Simpson RCMP received a report of a presumed sudden death.
RCMP attended the scene on the Mackenzie Highway. A large excavator had gone into standing water and the operator is presumed dead.
The RCMP are working with the NWT Coroner Service and Worker’s Safety & Compensation Commission as the investigation continues.
The presumed death is not deemed suspicious at this time.
