Langley, BC – A man appeared in court yesterday answering to charges relating to a break and enter the day prior.
Police were called just before 5:49 a.m. Sunday morning to an auto sales business in Langley City. The alarm company advised a male had cut a hole in the perimeter fence and was attempting to steal the tailgate off a truck. Two other males stood in the alley apparently acting as lookouts.
The male inside the compound could be seen on video getting into the driver seat of a white Ford F-550. He left the compound and crashed into a barrier a short distance away. He then exited the vehicle and ran on foot.
One of the officers located the driver nearby and placed him under arrest at 6::00 a.m.
Richard John WHITE, age 43, of no fixed address is remanded in custody currently facing charges of Break and Enter, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and three counts of Failing to Comply with his Probation Order – for breaching his conditions or curfew, that he not occupy the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle and that he not possess tools capable of use for criminal activity. He will next appear in Surrey Provincial Court on December 24th.
