Grande Prairie RCMP recover stolen bike from online buy and sell

Grande Prairie, Alberta – On Dec. 21, 2020 Grande Prairie RCMP received information regarding the theft of a bicycle. The complainant had located their bicycle on an online buy and sell site. RCMP members continued with the investigation and were able to locate the seller on the North side of Grande Prairie. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested and the stolen bicycle recovered.

Ryan Bateson (29) of Grande Prairie has been charged with resisting arrest and possession of property obtained by crime. Bateson is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court Jan. 18, 2021.

Grande Prairie RCMP would like to thank the owner of the bicycle who provided key information leading the police directly to the person responsible for theft and the recovery of a valued bicycle.
