Calgary, Alberta – Homicide Unit detectives continue to investigate after two men were found deceased inside of a vehicle as a result of a targeted shooting.
At approximately 9:20 a.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, police were called to the 1000 block of Marcombe Drive N.E., for reports of a suspicious vehicle that had been left running on the street. Upon arrival, officers located two men deceased inside the vehicle.
It is believed that the vehicle had been parked on the street since last night, Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, and the two men were shot to death between 9 and 9:30 p.m.
Autopsies are scheduled to be conducted tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, and Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020.
“This was a violent and targeted incident that resulted in the death of two individuals.” Says Staff Sergeant Martin Schiavetta of the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit. “While we are in the early stages of this investigation, this shooting has the hallmarks of organized crime. We are committed to keeping our community safe and asking anyone with information to contact police.”
Anyone who was in the area of Marcombe Drive N.E., between 9 and 9:30 p.m., including taxis and other vehicles that may have dashcam footage, is asked to contact police.

Calgary, Alberta – We are investigating after two bodies were located in a vehicle in the community of Marlborough earlier today.
At approximately 9:20 a.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, police were called to the 1000 block of Marcombe Drive N.E., for reports of a suspicious vehicle that had been left running on the street. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals deceased inside the vehicle.
Homicide Unit investigators are investigating the deaths, which are considered to be suspicious. It is believed that the vehicle may have been parked on the street since last night.
Anyone with information about the incident, or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Marlborough area is asked to contact police. Officers are currently canvassing the area for CCTV.
Autopsies are scheduled to be conducted tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, and Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020.
The investigation is ongoing.
