Camrose, Alberta – January 7, 2021 – A male reported that his trailer hitch, harnesses and fasteners were stolen from his utility trailer while parked at a residence along 41 street in the 4700 block.
A female contacted Police when she discovered that her elderly mother was sending money to an unknown person which was clearly fraudulent. Advice given on managing bank accounts.
A male attended Police headquarters to report that his wallet had been stolen from his residence on 43 street in the 5200 block. The male’s bank card had been used at a couple of locations and Police are investigating.
RCMP advised that a white Dodge Ram had fled a traffic stop on hwy 833 north of Camrose. Checks on the license plate determined the truck had been stolen out of Tofield. As a search was being conducted for the vehicle a female contacted Police advising that someone had parked a white truck in her driveway and then fled on foot. Please then received a complaint that a male was trying to steal a vehicle prior to getting into a dark green sedan and fleeing the area. Police were unable to locate the male but have seized the Dodge truck and have developed some leads on a possible suspect.
January 6, 2021
The owner of a 2001 Toyota Camry advised that his vehicle had been stolen overnight from in front of his residence on 55 street in the 5300 block. The license plate on the vehicle at the time of the theft was BKF0267.
January 5, 2021
A staff member at a liquor store contacted Police to report a theft. Video surveillance was reviewed and Police identified the male responsible for the theft of a bottle of liquor. The male was located in the entrance to a nearby building where he was consuming the stolen liquor. The male was arrested for the theft and for a mischief that he was responsible for just prior to Christmas. During a search of the male Police also located a small quantity of methamphetamine. The male is in custody waiting on a bail hearing where he is facing charges of mischief, theft, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
A 911 call was received from the emergency department at St. Mary’s hospital regarding a male patient who was waving a knife at people in the ER. Upon arrival Police determined that the male had shown a knife to security staff who then promptly took away the knife. The patient who hadn’t made threats to any other person was left in the care of hospital staff.
January 4, 2021
Police received a complaint of a suspicious male in a residential area. The male was located, identified and arrested on outstanding warrants. He was later released with a date to appear in court.
January 1, 2021
A male sent $800 to an unknown person who advised that he was going to release a compromising video of him unless he paid the money.
Police were advised that 3 BMX bikes were stolen from a yard in the southside trailer park.
