Leduc RCMP arrest male for multiple break and enters/theft

Leduc, Alberta – On November 3, 2020 Leduc RCMP received a complaint of several break and enters at Patterson UTI Drilling and Ja-Co Welding in Nisku, Alberta between October 27 and November 3, 2020.

Video surveillance showed several vehicles coming and going on more than one occasion.

Through investigation, Leduc RCMP determined the U-Haul used in the break and enters was stolen along with over 5,000. Lbs of copper wire.

Leduc RCMP identified one male involved in the thefts. The male was located and arrested on Jan. 7, 2021.

Michael Gilchrist (34) of Devon was charged with the following offences:

· Break and enter X3

· Mischief under $5000.

· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

· Theft over $5000.

· Identity Fraud

· Drive while unauthorized x3

Gilchrist has been held in custody since his arrest and will appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial court on January 19, 2021.

Leduc RCMP continue to investigate.
