Beaumont RCMP lay charges in theft of catalytic converters

Beaumont, Alberta – On January 7, 2021 the Beaumont RCMP General Investigation Section with assistance from the RCMP Auto Theft Unit executed a search warrant on a residence in the City of Beaumont. During the search, Police located 37 catalytic converters and a firearm inside the residence.

Wayne Whitlock (42) of Beaumont was arrested on January 21, 2021 and has been charged with the following offences:

– Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking x 2

– Unlawful possession of a firearm

– Unsafe storage of a firearm

Whitlock was held for a JIR and released on conditions and will appear in Leduc Provincial Court on February 11, 2021.
