Edmonton Homicide investigators charge 47-year-old man in connection to death of male last weekend

Edmonton, Alberta – Homicide Section investigators have arrested and charged a 47-year-old Edmonton man in connection to the murder of Terry Allen Maksymyszyn, 53, last weekend.

Mark Robie Wheeler, 47, of Edmonton, was taken into custody and charged with second degree murder yesterday, Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021.

The Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on the body of Terry Allen Maksymyszyn, 53 earlier this week. Cause and manner of death, however, are still not being released at this time.


At approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, Northwest Division patrol members responded to a trouble unknown call at a residence near 128 Avenue and 129 Street.

Upon arrival, members found Maksymyszyn unconscious inside the residence. Members commenced CPR measures on the male until EMS arrived, after which time he was treated and transported to hospital by paramedics.

At approximately 4:20 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, the male succumbed to his injuries. The Edmonton Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy for Tuesday morning.
