Stoney Nakoda First Nations, Alberta – In the early morning hours of Jan. 28, 2021, Stoney Nakoda RCMP initiated a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle in Morley, Alta. The vehicle fled and was located a short time later. The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested. During the subsequent investigation, a number of weapons, drugs, and identification documents were seized.
Aldina Snow (35), Gertrude Wesley (44), and Jacob Wesley (20), all of Morley, have been charged with over thirty offences including:
· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x6)
· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x2)
· Possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle (x4)
· Identity fraud (x4)
· Possession of controlled substances (x5) (Believed to be: methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and psilocybin)
· Possession of break-in instruments
· Flight from police
Aldina Snow and Gertrude Wesley were also charged with failing to comply with conditions of release orders.
All three accused were held for judicial interim release hearings. Aldina Snow and Gertrude Wesley were remanded to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on Feb. 2, 2021. Jacob Wesley was released with conditions to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court Feb. 16, 2021.
