Prince District JFO arrest men in Summerside and Cornwall and seized large amount of Hydromorphone; “value of the hydromorphone seized is estimated to worth over $45,000”

Summerside, Prince Edward Island – On Friday, February 5th, the Prince District Joint Force Operations (JFO) Unit which is comprised of RCMP, Summerside, and Kensington Police officers, arrested a man in Summerside during a targeted traffic stop and seized 15 – 30mg hydromorphone capsules. A short time later, Prince JFO arrested a second man during a targeted traffic stop in Cornwall and seized 708 – 8mg hydromorphone tablets, 75 hydromorphone 30mg capsules, a small amount of methamphetamine, cannabis oil, and $2,600 in cash. While determining a street value for any drug can vary for many reasons, the value of the hydromorphone seized is estimated to worth over $45,000.


The PEI RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime section assisted Prince District JFO with this investigation.

A 43 year old man and a 53 year old man will be compelled to court on a later date for drug trafficking charges.

The investigation into this matter is still ongoing.
