Moncton, New Brunswick – Three members of the Codiac Regional RCMP and a Codiac RCMP cellblock guard are in precautionary self-isolation following an exposure to a positive case of COVID-19 while on duty.
On February 12, 2021, police officers responded to a report of an intoxicated individual in Moncton. Members were wearing cloth face coverings. The man was arrested and transported to Codiac where he was placed in cells. At that time, members learned that the individual had recently tested positive for COVID-19.

Immediate precautions were taken to limit the exposure and reduce the risk for anyone else. This included rigorous sanitizing of equipment and precautionary self-isolation for the involved members.
