Southern Alberta RCMP Crime Reduction Unit make arrests and recover stolen property

Sundre, Alberta – On Monday Feb. 15, 2021, while investigating property crimes in and around the town of Sundre, the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit located and arrested 34-year-old Kirk Clark on outstanding warrants for breaching release conditions and 38-year-old Dana Patterson on outstanding warrants for possessing break and enter tools.

A search of the vehicle Clark and Patterson were travelling in resulted in the following seizure:

· a long rifle

· multiple rounds of ammunition

· several pieces of identification including a Canadian passport.

Kirk Arthur Clark and Dana Lucille Patterson, both from Sundre have each been charged with:

· Unauthorized possession of a firearm

· Possession of weapon obtained by crime

· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

Clark has additional charges of possessing a weapon contrary to a court order and driving a motor vehicle while prohibited contrary to the Traffic Safety Act.

In relation to an investigation regarding a stolen vehicle and attempted catalytic converter theft that occurred in Didsbury, Alta on Feb. 14, 2021, Didsbury RCMP have charged Clark with:

· Mischief under $5000

· Theft Under $5000

· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

· Fail to comply with release order

After a judicial hearing, Kirk Clark has been remanded in custody and will be appearing in Okotoks Provincial Court on Friday Feb.19, 2021.

Dana Patterson was released to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on Mar. 22, 2021.
