Okotoks RCMP Arrest Male from Calgary in Theft from Motor Vehicle; “suspect brandished a knife towards the victims”

Okotoks, Alberta – On February 19th, 2021 Okotoks RCMP were dispatched to a theft from motor vehicle. A second call was received where the suspect brandished a knife towards the victims and fled on foot.

Okotoks RCMP located and arrested a 36 year old male suspect. The male was also responsible for two other separate theft from motor vehicle incidents in the neighbourhood. A search incidental to arrest police found counterfeit money on his person.

Kyle Dale WESCOTT (36) of Calgary, AB was arrested and charged with the following criminal code offences:

1. Assault with a weapon;

2. Possession of stolen property;

3. Theft from Motor vehicle x 2

4. Theft under, and

5. Possess counterfeit money.

No injuries sustained to anyone during the incident.

Kyle Dale Wescott will be appearing in Okotoks Provincial court on March 19th, 2021.

Okotoks RCMP would like to remind the citizens of Okotoks to ensure all valuables are removed from their vehicles and lock their garage and house doors.
