Drayton Valley, Alberta – On Feb. 23, 2021, at approximately 6:40 a.m., Drayton Valley RCMP received a call of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 22 and Highway 39 in Brazeau County, Alta.
Drayton Valley RCMP, along with emergency services, attended the scene. Preliminary investigation indicates a semi-truck was westbound on Highway 39 and in the process of turning southbound onto Highway 22 when a car that was following the semi-truck struck the rear of the semi-truck. The driver, 25-yr-old lone occupant from the county of Leduc, Alta., of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical services. The name of the deceased will not be released.
Drayton Valley RCMP, along with the RCMP Collision Analyst, conducted an investigation of the scene.
All emergency and police personnel have now cleared and regular traffic flow in this area has now resumed.
No further updates are anticipated.
