Toronto man arrested in sexual assault that occurred at the Mount Olive Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Kenneth Gayle, 56

Toronto, Ontario – The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest made in a sexual assault investigation.

On Sunday, December 27, 2020, at approximately 1 p.m., officers responded to a call for a sexual assault that occurred at the Mount Olive Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Thursday, December 24, 2020.

It is alleged that:

– a woman attended the church to volunteer

– she was approached by an elder and sexually assaulted twice

– the woman pushed him away and left the church

Kenneth Gayle, 56, of Toronto, surrendered to police. He is charged with:

1) Two counts of Sexual Assault

He will appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Friday, March 5, 2021, at 9 a.m., in room 202.

This is an ongoing investigation.
