Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP make arrests after break-in at a rural property near McCreary

Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba – On March 8, 2021, at approximately 11:25 am, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a rural property near McCreary.

The homeowner advised that his garage alarm had gone off and when he arrived he realized he had interrupted a break-in. His garage door had been forced open, and an unknown male and female fled on foot. The homeowner followed the suspects in his vehicle and notified police.

Officers located the suspects on Highway 50, just east of Road 84N. The male and female were arrested without incident. It was later determined the male had given officers a false name and he was charged accordingly.

A 26-year-old female from Portage la Prairie is facing a charge of Breaking and Entering and was released with an upcoming court date.

Davey Mousseau, 29, of Portage la Prairie has been charged with Breaking and Entering, Obstruction and Failing to Comply. He was remanded into custody.

RCMP continue to investigate.
