Edson, Alberta – On March 17, 2021 at 02:48 a.m., RCMP responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle near Range Road 165 and Township Road 534 in Yellowhead County, Alta.
Police located a vehicle in the area and conducted a traffic stop locating a significant amount of copper wire cable attached to the hitch of the truck. As a result of the investigation police determined the copper wire to be stolen and the three occupants were arrested.
Roseita Fortier (50), Richard Hamilton (54) and Michael Cameron (50) all from Edson, Alta. have been each charged with Theft under $5000 and Mischief under $5000.
Hamilton and Fortier were released following an Interim Judicial Hearing and are scheduled to appear in Edson Provincial Court on April 20, 2021.
Cameron was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in Edson Provincial Court on June 1, 2021.
Fortier and Hamilton were charged for committing the exact same crime on March 9, 2021 and are before the courts on those matters.
