Collision on Alberta Highway 18 east of Clyde claims driver from Edmonton

Westlock, Alta. – On March 24, 2021 at 8:54 a.m., Westlock RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 18 near Range Road 242 east of Clyde, Alta.

Preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle was travelling westbound on Highway 18 when it lost control and collided with an oncoming eastbound semi truck.

The 29-year-old female driver of the vehicle from Edmonton, Alta was declared deceased on scene. The driver of the semi truck did not sustain any injuries.

Westlock RCMP along with a RCMP Collision Analyst remained on scene for several hours investigating.

No further updates are anticipated. The name of the deceased will not be released.
