Lethbridge Police charge two men with robbery and other offences

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have charged two men with a robbery committed with a stolen getaway vehicle.

On Monday, March 29, 2021 at about 1:45 p.m. a male stole a bag of tools from a business in the 2200-block of 32 Street South. He ran to a waiting vehicle and a store employee followed him, jumping into the truck box to try and retrieve the tools. The vehicle drove away, and in trying to get out of the truck box the employee was dragged for several feet and suffered minor injuries to his arms and hands.

Members of the Lethbridge Police Service Crime Suppression Team and Priority Crimes Unit were able to locate the truck and followed it until it stopped in the area of Blackfoot Circle West about 3:15 p.m. The two occupants exited the truck, with one apprehended immediately and the other after a short foot chase. The stolen tools were recovered at the scene. The truck had been reported stolen Sunday, March 28, 2021, from the Legacy Ridge neighbourhood.

The Lethbridge men, Almo Yellow Face, 35, and Cory Hagen, 39, have been charged: with robbery; possession of stolen property over $5,000; assault with a weapon (vehicle); and resisting a peace officer. They remain in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
