Airdrie, Alberta – On Apr. 3, 2021 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Airdrie RCMP were made aware of a Facebook post which stated that a local playground was tampered with and a child was injured. At that time a police report had not been filed with Airdrie RCMP.
RCMP later confirmed that a child was injured at a playground in the Midtown neighbourhood on Apr. 2, 2021, however there was no indication that the injury was a result of razor blades or any tampering with playground equipment. Officers inspected numerous playgrounds and nothing dangerous was noted.

The City of Airdrie will be heading out to do full inspections of all playgrounds to ensure they are safe.
RCMP advise parents and caregivers that it is always a good idea to have a look around any play area to look for possible hazards. Let’s work together to keep our parks and playgrounds safe for our children.
