UPDATE: Lloydminster and Onion Lake RCMP Searching for two men, possibly armed – CHARGES LAID

On April 10th at approximately 9:30 am Onion Lake RCMP responded to a complaint of 2 males involved in the discharging of a firearm at a residence.

Lloydminster, Alberta – On April 10, 2021 shortly after 9:30 a.m., Onion Lake RCMP received a complaint advising that shots had been fired into a home at the Onion Lake Cree Nation. The complainant and his family inside were able to seek shelter and safety at a neighbouring residence and were uninjured. The suspects fled the Onion Lake Cree Nation, travelling towards Lloydminster, Alberta.

The RCMP detachments of Onion Lake, Maidstone, Lloydminster, Kitscoty and Elk Point were dispatched to intercept the suspects. The RCMP Canine unit, Edmonton Air Services, worked to locate and arrest the suspects and they were taken into custody without incident. North Battleford RCMP Detachment, the Underwater Recovery and Forensic identification sections are assisting with the continuing investigation.

1 count, Adult Possession of firearm/weapon/device/ammunition in motor vehicle, Section 94(2), Criminal Code

1 count, Adult Flight from peace officer, Section 320.17, Criminal Code

1 count, Adult Dangerous operation of motor vehicle, Section 320.13(1), Criminal Code

1 count, Adult Theft of truck, Section 333.1(1), Criminal Code

2 counts, Adult Mischief over $5,000 – Damage to property, Section 430(3), Criminal Code

1 count, Adult Pointing a firearm, Section 87(2), Criminal Code

1 count, Adult Discharge firearm with intent, Section 244, Criminal Code

6 counts, Adult Fail to comply with undertaking condition, Section 145(4)(a), Criminal Code

Saskatchewan RCMP

BACKGROUND

Lloydminster, Alberta – (3:45 pm) Please be advised that the RCMP located the 2 males and they were taken into custody without incident. The vehicles involved have also been recovered.

The RCMP is continuing their investigation into this incident.

BACKGROUND

Lloydminster, Alberta – (2:33 PM) On April 10th at approximately 9:30 am Onion Lake RCMP responded to a complaint of 2 males involved in the discharging of a firearm at a residence. The 2 males left in a vehicle, later abandoned that vehicle and stole another truck with Saskatchewan license plate 271 IRC. The truck is a 2012 Ford F350 Super Duty Supercab, black in color with a flat deck trailer attached.

The truck and trailer was last seen in the area of Range Road 33 and Township Road 512. The two males are believed to be armed and the RCMP have a presence in the area. They are requesting residents to call 911 with any information related to this incident. Do not approach these men if seen, call police immediately.
