Camrose, Alberta – April 12, 2021 – Police received a complaint of a male who had stolen a bicycle from 53a Ave in the 5200 block. Police were able to track the bicycle and arrest the male. The male was additionally found to be in possession of ammunition contrary to his conditions. The male was charged with theft, possession of stolen property and breaching his conditions.
A female contacted Police to report that she had been assaulted by a male. Police attended the residence where the male was arrested and charged with assault. He was later released on an undertaking with conditions.
A male reported the attempted theft of his 1996 Jeep Cherokee while parked on 43 street in the 5200 block after he observed that the ignition had been punched. Police are investigating.
Just before midnight a male reported that his attached garage was on fire. Police and the Camrose Fire Department attended the home on 36 avenue in the 5200 block where the garage was fully engulfed in flames. The homes in the area were evacuated while the CFD tried dealt with the fire. The home was destroyed in the fire and all occupants were safe.

A frightened youth called 911 after the parents became involved in a heated argument. The couple had separated prior to Police arrival after having an argument over finances. No physical violence had occurred and Children Services were notified of the incident.
Police received a report of an intoxicated male who was at a playground with his young child. The mother was contacted and took custody of her child and the intoxicated father was left in the care of his parents.
A vehicle which failed to stop for Police was later located abandoned on 49 avenue in the 5600 block. Police were able to identify the driver who was later arrested and charged with flight, driving while suspended, no insurance, no registration, possession of a stolen licence plate and possession of a controlled substance.

Police observed a grossly intoxicated male and checks indicated that he had an outstanding warrant. The male was transported to St. Mary’s hospital for treatment and the warrant executed with him later being released on an appearance notice.
Loss prevention at a west end business reported a theft in progress. The female was enjoying a “shopping spree” but then abandoned all the merchandise. The female from Red Deer was identified and issued an indefinite trespass notice. Later that evening staff at a hotel located a female hiding under some stairs. The same female who had nowhere to stay was escorted off the property and provided a place to stay utilizing Neighbor Aid.
