Witnesses sought in pedestrian collision: Calgary Police Service

Calgary, Alberta – We are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed a serious-injury pedestrian collision last evening that left a teen in critical condition.

Around 7:35 p.m., on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, a collision occurred at the intersection of 90 Avenue and Bay Ridge Drive S.W. A 2006 Honda Pilot, operated by a woman in her 40s, travelling westbound on 90 Avenue S.W., struck a 15-year-old youth as she crossed the road in a crosswalk. The teen was taken to hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable.

The driver remained on scene. Alcohol, drugs and speed are not considered factors in the collision. Investigators are looking into the possibility that the driver’s vision may have been obscured by the sun and are looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
