Glovertown RCMP warns of attempted child luring in Hare Bay, N.L.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m., on April 19, 2021, Glovertown RCMP received the report of an attempted child luring that occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. near the bus station on Saunders Road.

Glovertown, Newfoundland and Labrador – Glovertown RCMP is warning the public of an attempted child luring incident that happened yesterday in Hare Bay.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m., on April 19, 2021, Glovertown RCMP received the report of an attempted child luring that occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. near the bus station on Saunders Road. Two young girls were approached by a man standing beside a car who told them if they got into his vehicle he would give them candy and take them to a nice place. The girls did not enter the vehicle and the man drove away.

The man is described as being between six feet and six feet two inches tall, with dirty blonde hair, brown eyes and freckles. He was clean shaven and appeared to be in his thirties. He was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

The vehicle is described as a dark blue 4-door car with a crack in the rear driver-side window.

Glovertown RCMP asks parents to educate their children on what to do if approached by a stranger and asks the public to report any suspicious activities.
