Wood Buffalo RCMP respond to an assault causing bodily harm

On April 9, 2021, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP received a 911 call reporting a stabbing in the downtown area of Fort McMurray, Alta.

Fort McMurray, Alberta – On April 9, 2021, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP received a 911 call reporting a stabbing in the downtown area of Fort McMurray, Alta., near Franklin Avenue and Alberta Drive.

Wood Buffalo RCMP responded and located a 20-year-old male who had sustained a minor injury that was treated on scene by emergency medical services.

Further investigation by Wood Buffalo RCMP revealed that an altercation occurred between two adult male individuals in the downtown area of Fort McMurray. Police believe this was an isolated and targeted incident. No other persons were injured during this incident.

The 20-year-old male was arrested and has been charged for assault with a weapon and causing a disturbance. This 20-year-old male was subsequently released to attend Fort McMurray Provincial court on May 26, 2021. The charges have yet to be sworn in court and therefore this individual’s name will not be released at this time.

Wood Buffalo RCMP’s investigation resulted in an arrest warrant for Robin Lee Conrad Grandjambe (30), of Fort McMurray, Alta.

On April 14, Robin Grandjambe was located and arrested. Grandjambe is facing the following charges:

· Possession of a weapon contrary to an order

· Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public

· Assault causing bodily harm

· Cause a disturbance

Following a judicial hearing, Grandjambe was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Fort McMurray Provincial Court on May 12, 2021.
