Lethbridge Police charge two and seize drugs and proceeds of crime

Seized were 62.9 grams of methamphetamine and 18.6 grams of fentanyl, along with more than $12,000 cash as the proceeds of crime.

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have charged two people with multiple drug-related and other offences, and seized more than $17,000 in drugs.

Police arrested the two after a short-term investigation about 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021 in a vehicle parked in the 100-block of Purdue Court West. The vehicle had a stolen licence plate attached. Seized were 62.9 grams of methamphetamine and 18.6 grams of fentanyl, along with more than $12,000 cash as the proceeds of crime.

Jyi Trotter, 41, has been charged with: two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking; trafficking in the proceeds of crime over $5,000; possession of stolen property under $5,000; operating a motor vehicle while prohibited; and five counts of breach of release orders. The Lethbridge man will remain in custody with a court appearance set for May 6, 2021.

Kaila Giroux, 27, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking; and possession of stolen property under $5,000. The Lethbridge woman was released from custody to appear in court June 10, 2021.
