RCMP make arrests in two separate Manitoba stabbings

Winnipeg, Manitoba – On April 29, 2021, at approximately 12:30 pm, South Indian Lake RCMP responded to a report of two people who had been stabbed during a robbery at a home on O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation.

Two male victims, aged 32 and 33, were taken to the nursing station with non-life threatening injuries. The 32-year-old victim was flown out of the community for further treatment.

Officers arrested 21-year-old Jeremiah Spence, and he has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Robbery and Fail to Comply x2. He was remanded into custody.

On April 30, 2021, at approximately 9:55 pm, RCMP responded to a stabbing at a residence in Leaf Rapids.

Upon arrival, officers located an injured 37-year-old male inside a residence. Officers provided first aid until Emergency Services arrived. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Further investigation led to the arrest of a 17-year-old female. She is facing charges of Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

Leaf Rapids and South Indian Lake RCMP continue to investigate.
