Lethbridge Police Crime Suppression Team arrests man on drug and weapons charges

Members of the CST arrested the man about 3:45 p.m. in the 500-block of 8 Street South after observing activity consistent with drug trafficking and learning he had outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Lethbridge, Alberta – The Lethbridge Police Service Crime Suppression Team (CST) arrested a man on drug and weapons charges on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, and seized a quantity of fentanyl.

Members of the CST arrested the man about 3:45 p.m. in the 500-block of 8 Street South after observing activity consistent with drug trafficking and learning he had outstanding warrants for his arrest. As the CST members and a canine unit approached the man he pulled out a knife before dropping it to the ground, and was arrested without incident.

He was found to be in possession of 10.6 grams of fentanyl, worth more than $2,000 and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

Cory Bruce Hagen, 39, was charged with: possession for the purpose of trafficking; carrying a concealed weapon; possession of a dangerous weapon; and breach of a release order. He was remanded in custody for a Judicial Interim Release hearing to be held Thursday, May 6, 2021.
