Three Hills RCMP on scene at serious collision on Alberta Highway 27 – UPDATED

Three Hills RCMP officers are currently on scene at a two vehicle collision on Highway 27 near Range Road 251 in Three Hills, Alta.

Kneehill County, Alberta – On May 5, 2021 at 9:54 a.m., Three Hills RCMP received a 911 call of a two vehicle collision on Highway 27 near Range Road 251 in Kneehill County, Alta.

Preliminary investigation indicates a truck travelling eastbound on Highway 27 was struck by a vehicle travelling northbound on Range Road 251.

The lone driver of the truck was taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries and the driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital by STARS with injuries. The vehicle passenger a 78-year-old female from Three Hills, Alta. was declared deceased on scene. The name of the deceased will not be released.

The RCMP Collison Analyst attended the scene to assist in the investigation.

The area of the collision remained restricted to traffic for a period of time until the highway was fully re-opened.

No further updates are anticipated.

Eastbound traffic is being re-routed at Range Road 244 and westbound traffic is being re-routed at Range Road 252.
