Scream report leads to police clearing hotel rooms, arresting one person

Kamloops City, BC – A man was arrested following a report of a woman screaming for help inside a hotel room yesterday morning.

On May 3, 2021, around 10:15 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended a hotel on the 300-block of St. Paul Street for a report of a woman screaming for help and something about a stabbing.

No specific room number was provided, resulting in officers having to search two floors to find the source of the scream. No stabbing had occurred.

A man was arrested for multiple offences, including assault, breach, and forcible confinement. He remains in police custody and is expected to appear in court later today.
