Whitehorse RCMP respond to a report of a suspicious package

On May 10, 2021 at 1:30 p.m., Whitehorse RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious package, reported to be an explosive device on 2nd Avenue between Black St and Ogilvie St, Whitehorse.

Whitehorse, Yukon – On May 10, 2021 at 1:30 p.m., Whitehorse RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious package, reported to be an explosive device on 2nd Avenue between Black St and Ogilvie St, Whitehorse. For the safety of the public, 2nd Avenue was closed, and Yukonstruct and Yukon University were evacuated.

The “M” Division Explosive Disposal Unit attended the location, safely removed the package, and upon dismantling, it was determined to not to be an explosive.
