Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta – In the early morning hours of May 18th, 2021, the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP responded to a priority call to assist EMS with a medical emergency. Upon arrival, the responding RCMP members took over performing CPR on an unconscious male.
It was suspected that this male had overdosed on drugs, so Narcan was administered. Thankfully the male came to, and was treated by EMS upon their arrival.
Insp. Mike McCAULEY, the Officer in Charge of the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP said “I am very proud of my members for their fast response and quick assessment of what was happening during what was likely a very stressful situation. I fear that things could have ended a lot worse had they not acted so fast. This is a reminder of the life or death decisions police officers are required to make on a daily basis”.
