Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia – Halifax District RCMP has charged a man and a woman for violating Nova Scotia’s Health Protection Act in two separate instances.
At approximately 3 p.m. on May 17, police responded to a call of a man refusing to wear a mask inside a business on Sackville Dr. in Lower Sackville. Police attended and located the man. He received a ticket for failing to wear a mask in a public place.
At 11:30 p.m. on May 17, police were on patrol and stopped a vehicle on Memory Lane in Musquodoboit Harbour. Police learned that the driver was from Indian Brook. Police charged the woman under the Health Protection Act for non-essential travel outside of the municipality where the woman primarily resides.
The tickets for both offences each carry a fine amount of $2,422.00.
