Strathcona County RCMP investigate assault with a weapon/road rage incident

Strathcona County RCMP are currently investigating an alleged road rage incident and assault with a weapon that occurred westbound on Highway 16 near the Cloverbar Road on ramp in Sherwood Park, Alta.

Sherwood Park, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are currently investigating an alleged road rage incident and assault with a weapon that occurred westbound on Highway 16 near the Cloverbar Road on ramp in Sherwood Park, Alta.

On May 18, 2021 at 6:37 a.m., RCMP responded to a 911 call from a male victim who received a laceration from a knife on his shoulder during a road rage incident. Police determined both vehicles were stopped on the side of the Highway when the altercation took place and the suspect vehicle fled the scene, striking the victims vehicle. The victim was transported to hospital by emergency services for medical treatment.

The male suspect was driving a 2017-2019 dark ford escape and believed to have damage on the front passenger side bumper along with a missing passenger side mirror. The male is described as Caucasian, early 20’s with dark scruffy hair and last seen wearing tan coloured pants.

Police are looking to speak to anyone who was driving in the area at the time or witnessed the incident.
