Autopsy confirms north Edmonton death is homicide; Police seek video footage from residents and drivers

At approximately 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021, Northeast Division officers were called to a disturbance at a multi-unit residence in the area of 80 Street and 142 Avenue.

Edmonton, Alberta – Homicide Section is seeking is dashcam or home security footage related to a recent north Edmonton death that has since been confirmed a homicide.

At approximately 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021, Northeast Division officers were called to a disturbance at a multi-unit residence in the area of 80 Street and 142 Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male.

Earlier today, Thursday, May 20, 2021, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Gordy Loos, 28. The cause of death is not being released at this time for investigative purposes. The manner of death is homicide.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate and are asking drivers and residents in the area who may have dashcam or home security footage that was active at the time to contact police.
