Preparing to leave for work early Wednesday morning, the 61-year-old complainant was walking down the building stairwell and on the way to his vehicle parked outside, when he was approached and attacked by two unknown suspects.

The suspects repeatedly punched, kicked and stomped the complainant, before robbing him. The suspects left the scene briefly, before returning to steal more personal items from the semi-conscious male.

Upon arrival on scene, EPS members spotted a male matching the description of one of the suspects near the southside of the building. A foot pursuit ensued with officers quickly locating the male hiding in a nearby dumpster.

James Dennis Winterburn, 37, is charged with aggravated assault, robbery and obstructing a peace officer.

The 61-year-old male complainant remains in hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

EPS investigators continue to look for the second suspect who is described as an indigenous male, between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, clean shaven and wearing glasses. EPS is releasing a surveillance image (see below) that shows the face of the second suspect with hopes that someone in the public can help identify him.
