Lethbridge, Alberta – The Lethbridge Police Service Crime Suppression Team (CST), with the assistance of the canine and patrol units, arrested two people Friday, June 4, 2021, and recovered two stolen vehicles and a travel trailer.
Just after 10 p.m. CST members located what was believed to be a stolen truck hauling a travel trailer in the area of Eagle Road in north Lethbridge. The two occupants were arrested on a number of outstanding warrants from multiple jurisdictions, and it was confirmed the truck and a second vehicle parked nearby had been reported stolen earlier. It was determined the travel trailer had been fraudulently purchased earlier that evening. The estimated value of the stolen goods is almost $19,000.
Jamie George Hart, 34, has been charged with: possession of stolen property over $5000; fraud over $5,000; uttering a forged document; identity fraud; two counts of drawing a document without authority (all in relation to the trailer); as well as two counts of failure to comply with release orders; and multiple traffic violation tickets.
Hart was charged earlier by Taber Police Service and RCMP in relation to the two stolen vehicles.
Crystal Dawn Marie Szilagyi, 31, and also of Coalhurst, has been charged with: three counts of possession of a forged document; three counts of drawing a document without authority; and failure to comply with a release order.
Both Hart and Szilagyi remain in custody while awaiting Judicial Interim Release hearings.
