Edmonton Police investigating fatal motorcycle collision on Yellowhead Trail

Edmonton, Alberta – EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that took place this morning on Yellowhead Trail.

At approximately 10:50 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, June 9, 2021, Northwest Division officers responded to the report of a collision in the area of Yellowhead Trail and Fort Road. It was reported to police that a grey Honda motorcycle was travelling westbound on Yellowhead Trail in the area of Fort Road when the rider lost control and struck a pole.

EMS responded, treated and transported the 24-year-old male rider of the motorcycle to hospital; however, he succumbed to his injuries.

MCIS continues to investigate.

Speed is believed to be a factor in this collision.
