Lamont, Alta. – Traffic has resumed in both directions on Highway 38. The name of the deceased will not be released and no further updates are anticipated.
BACKGROUND
Lamont, Alberta – At 8:22 a.m., Fort Saskatchewan RCMP responded a call of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 38 involving a semi-tractor and a SUV.
Traffic is being diverted at Range Road 210 and Range Road 204 and is expected to continue for several hours.
RCMP, Fire and EMS are all on scene. The RCMP Collision analyst will be attending the scene to assist.

The initial investigation indicates that the semi-tractor was eastbound, and the SUV westbound on Highway 38 at the time of the collision.
One male occupant of the SUV is deceased. The driver of the semi-tractor is physically un-injured.
First responders will remain on scene for several hours as the investigation continues. The RCMP is asking that motorists avoid the area in their travels.
An update will be provided when more information becomes available.
