On July 26, 2021, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Edson RCMP received a call that the owner of a vehicle that had been stolen earlier that day had located the stolen vehicle. Edson RCMP attended the location and a vehicle stop was completed. Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested and are facing charges.

Dallas Andrew Maughan (23) and Jamie Brandon Crowther (22), both from Edson, have each been charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 and Breach of an Undertaking. Following judicial hearings, Maughan and Crowther were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Edson Provincial Court on Sept. 7, 2021.

Of note, the charges for Breach of an Undertaking are related to both Maughan and Crowther being out on release with conditions in relation to an incident on July 21, 2021, where they were charged for Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 (stolen vehicle) and were released on conditions. Those matters are also before the courts.
