Lethbridge Police charge driver of stolen vehicle involved in an injury collision

Lethbridge, Alberta – (19-Aug-2021 1:42 PM) Lethbridge Police have charged a Blood Reserve man with multiple offences following a two-vehicle collision which sent a woman to hospital with serious injuries.

Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 13 Street North and 6 Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021. A 28-year-old Lethbridge woman, the driver and lone occupant of one of the vehicles involved, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.

Witnesses informed police the driver of the other vehicle had fled the scene on foot. An individual later approached police at the scene claiming he was a passenger in that vehicle. It was determined he was in fact the driver, however, and that the vehicle had been stolen earlier from the Blood Reserve. He was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
