Drayton Valley RCMP seek public assistance in Homicide

Drayton Valley, Alberta – (Tue, Sep 7, 3:32 PM) Drayton Valley RCMP General Investigation Section was able to locate the scene of a collision involving the victim being struck by motor vehicle, at a farm located in Breton, Alta.

The female suspect was identified as 33-year-old, Bronwyn Hannah-Jane Luckham, of Carstairs, Alta. Luckham was arrested on Sept. 2, in Calgary. After consulation with the Crown Attorney’s office, Bronwyn Luckham has been charged with second degree murder. After an in-custody judicial hearing, Luckham was remanded in police custody and is scheduled to appear on Sept. 9, 2021, in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court.

If you have yet to provide police any video surveillance or dash camera footage, that involves the victim’s vehicle travelling from Breton to Drayton Valley on Aug. 30, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., you are asked to contact the Drayton Valley RCMP Detachment at 780-542-4456.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of this ongoing investigation.

Police do not believe this was a random act.

Drayton Valley RCMP seek public assistance on suspicious death

Drayton Valley, Alberta – On Aug. 30, shortly after 8:30 p.m., Drayton Valley RCMP responded to a call for assistance at the local hospital. Shortly after 8 p.m., a male was dropped off outside the local hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. The victim was able to share some information prior to succumbing to his injuries in hospital.

Surveillance obtained by police shows the victim being dropped off in the parking lot of the hospital and that vehicle immediately departing without providing any information. Drayton Valley RCMP are looking for the victim’s vehicle: a 2005 Nissan Armada SUV, maroon in colour, with four doors and Alberta licence plate CKC6763. Police have contacted the next of kin. The male victim has been identified as Jonathan James Paul, 40-years-old, of Calgary, Alta.

Drayton Valley RCMP are seeking public assistance in this suspicious death investigation. The public is asked to contact Drayton Valley RCMP at 780-542-4456 if they are able to provide:

· the location of the victim’s vehicle,

· any information in relation to this incident,

· identifying those responsible, or who dropped Jon off at the hospital,

· review and provide any dash camera footage or surveillance footage that may have the victim’s vehicle in your recordings, or

· witnessed or was involved in this incident.
