Three charged in armed pharmacy robbery series: Edmonton Police

Edmonton, Alberta – (07-Sep-2021 @ 2:36 PM) The Edmonton Police Service’s Robbery Section has charged two youths and one adult male in a series of armed robberies.

On Aug. 29, 2021 between approximately 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., three masked males reportedly robbed two southwest pharmacies in quick succession. In both cases, it was reported that one suspect brandished a weapon, while a second male accessed the pharmacy safe and the third acted as a lookout and intimidated pharmacy staff. Narcotics and cash were stolen.

Approximately 20 minutes later, the same three males reportedly entered another pharmacy at 62 Avenue and 199 Street and executed the same style of robbery. In this case, the stolen drugs featured a tracking device, and police were able to intercept the three males. The three were found in possession of stolen narcotics worth approximately $1600 and a small amount of stolen cash, and were arrested.
