Foothills County RCMP seize drugs and lay charges, three Calgarians charged

Aldersyde, Alberta – (8-Sept-2021 12:22 PM) On Sept. 4, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Foothills County RCMP were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in the Aldersyde industrial area.

Police located the vehicle and after speaking with the three occupants, determined that the driver was under a 24-hour house arrest. The male was subsequently arrested for breaching a court order.

One of the female passengers was found to be on numerous outstanding warrants from previous charges from Calgary and the surrounding areas.

The following was seized during the course of the investigation:

· 1114 grams of Methamphetamine

· 110 grams of Cocaine

· 93 grams of Fentanyl

In addition, a stolen vehicle from Calgary was recovered.

Jay Bridgman (50) of Calgary has been charged with:

· Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine

· Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine

· Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl

· Possession of stolen property over $5000

· Breach of court order x 3

Sarah Jane Turner-Stewart (22) of Calgary has been charged with:

· Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine

· Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine

· Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl

· Possession of stolen property over $5000

· Breach of court order

Samara Astalnok (22) of Calgary has been charged with:

· Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine

· Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine

· Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl

· Possession of stolen property over $5000

After a Judicial hearing Bridgman and Turner-Stewart did not speak to bail and were remanded into custody.

Turner-Stewart is next scheduled to appear on Sept. 8, 2021, in Calgary Provincial Court and Bridgman is next scheduled to appear on Sept.10, 2021 in Okotoks Provincial Court.

Following a Judicial hearing Astalnok was released and is next scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on Sept.10, 2021.

As these matters are before the courts, no further details will be provided.
