Drayton Valley RCMP execute search warrant and recover over $250,000 of stolen property

Drayton Valley, Alberta – (10-Sept-2021 4:57 PM) On Aug. 26, 2021, Drayton Valley RCMP executed a search warrant on a rural property northeast of Drayton Valley. One adult male was arrested on the property.

As a result of this search, police recovered a variety of stolen property, including: passenger vehicles, semi-trucks, various trailers, generators, a boat and a mini excavator. The estimated value of this recovered property is over $250,000. All owners of the property that was recovered have been contacted by police and are urged to contact their insurance companies for information on what steps to take next.

The male arrested, Colin Reid Rumsey (40), of the Drayton Valley area, is facing 12 charges for possession or property obtained by crime over $5000.

After an in-custody judicial hearing, Rumsey was remanded in custody. Rumsey’s next scheduled court appearance is on Oct. 5, 2021, in Drayton Valley Provincial Court.
