UPDATE: Autopsy results confirm 22-year-old male died from a gunshot wound

Edmonton, Alberta – (10-Sep-2021 @ 2:46 PM) An autopsy conducted by the Edmonton Medical Examiner has confirmed that Hamza Mohamed, 22, died from a gunshot wound with the manner of death being homicide in connection to an Aug. 29th shooting incident at the Duggan Community Hall.

At approximately 4 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, Southwest Division officers responded to the report of a shooting at a community hall in the area of 37 Avenue and 106 Street. Upon arrival, officers located Mohamed inside the hall. Six other adult males were also injured during the incident and treated at hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

On Aug. 30, 2021, the EPS Homicide Section charged Christopher Wilson, 37, with second degree murder. On Sep. 1, 2021, a second male, Abdullahi Yalahow, 32 was charged with first degree murder.
