Winnipeg Police seek to identify person of interest in serious assault on transit bus

Winnipeg, Manitoba – On September 12, 2021, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of an assault that occurred to a passenger on a transit bus in the downtown area.

The bus managed to stop at Portage Avenue and Fort Street, where police located a female victim in her seventies. She was transported to hospital and treated for her injuries. Information provided to police indicated that a male suspect had attacked the victim and then exited the bus.

The Major Crimes Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male person of interest, as seen in the photos below.
