Body of woman from China recovered from Annapolis River in Nova Scotia

Middleton, Nova Scotia – Annapolis District RCMP, supported by RCMP Air Services, local fire departments and volunteers, have located the remains of a 25-year-old woman, from China, who had been swimming in the Annapolis River.

On September 11, just before 3 p.m., a 25-year-old woman was swimming with another woman from a dock on the Annapolis River. Both encountered difficulty with the current with one able to make it safely to the dock. This woman immediately contacted emergency 911 while the missing woman was swept downstream by the current.

On September 15, human remains were located by police on the banks of the Annapolis River in Middleton. The remains were recovered and were positively identified as the missing 25-year-old woman.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time.

The RCMP would like to thank the volunteers who were extremely dedicated in assisting the search efforts. The recovery of the woman was only possible with their efforts.
