Lethbridge Police investigation continues into injury motor vehicle collision

Lethbridge, Alberta – A Lethbridge Police investigation continues into a motor vehicle collision Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 which sent a 27-year-old motorcyclist to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Police responded to the collision at the intersection of Crowsnest Trail and 43 Street at about 6:10 p.m. Traffic Response Unit investigators determined a motorcycle traveling southbound on 43 Street collided with a northbound vehicle which was turning west onto Crowsnest Trail.

The motorcycle driver, a 27-year-old male from Lethbridge, suffered serious and life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital in Calgary. The 78-year-old female driver of the northbound sport utility vehicle, also from Lethbridge, was not injured.

The collision is still under investigation with no further details available at this time. Neither alcohol or drugs appear to have been a factor in the incident.

Serious Motor Vehicle Collision Update

On September 20th, 2021 at approximately 6:10pm, the Lethbridge Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a SUV at the intersection of Highway 3 and 43 Street South. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Calgary by Stars Air Ambulance and the driver of the SUV sustained no injury. The collision is still under investigation.
The intersection has been re-opened to traffic.
