UPDATE: Convenience store argument ends in gunfire and homicide

Winnipeg, Manitoba – On September 21, 2021, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Homicide Unit arrested an 18-year-old male of Winnipeg, for the murder of Wade DONKEY, 18, which occurred on November 16, 2020.

Investigators believe the two males (not previously known to each other), were at a convenience store in the area of Ross/Elgin. They became embroiled in an argument, ending with DONKEY being shot and succumbing to his injuries. The accused fled on foot and the investigation continued by the Homicide Unit.

The accused who was a 17-year-old youth at the time of the offence, has been charged with Second Degree Murder and detained in custody.

As previously released:

On November 16, 2020, at 1:50 p.m., Winnipeg Police officers responded to the 100 block of Isabel Street for a report of a male that had been shot. An adult male victim was transported to hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Wade Darryl Donkey, 18.
